- אֹבֶןm., only in Du. אָבְנַיִם (b. h., √בן, v. בֵּין, cmp. אֹפֶן) 1) the potters turning implement. 2) the passage of the embryo, vagina. Ex. R. s. 1 (etym.) מקום שהולד נפנה בו (some ed. נקנה incorr.) where the child turns (to come to light). (Oth. etym. v. ibid. a. Sot.11b.
